This project consisted of a four storey nursing home development which required all floor areas to have insulation, underfloor heating and a 50mm flowing, self compacting screed installed.
Each level of the nursing home incorporated communal areas and self-contained flats, totalling 5200m2 of floor area.
The sub floors were a combination of beam and block, with wide span pre-cast concrete planks.
Due to the excellent technical and commercial service available from manufacturing partners, Gypsol screed became the material of choice; meeting and exceeding all of the project's specified requirements.
The Gypsol screed was installed in just seven days, with the underfloor heating then able to assist in the force drying of the screed seven days after installation. This meant that the drying phase could be minimized, saving considerable project time.
The screed was subsequently overlaid with loose lay carpets to main living areas and thin sheet vinyl to bathroom and wet room areas.
