This Cleckheaton based project comprised the construction of four blocks of flats, with each block consisting of 6 flats and amounting to a total floor area of 450m2.
Each block required all upper floor flats to have a resilient acoustic membrane and screed installed, which would achieve a minimum of 80kg/m2 in order to meet Part E of Building Regulations.
The Precast Concrete Slabs used in the construction process were all cleaned and grouted prior to the installation of the acoustic membrane and screed.
The Gypsol screed was then installed to a depth of just 40mm minimum, with one full block of flats being installed in a little over half a day.
The system was subjected to pre-completion sound testing, which it passed, and was finished with loose lay carpets to main living areas and ceramic tiles to bathroom areas.
